I’m looking forward to November, and Portland will be a great venue for the conference. If driving from California, I encourge you to look at the Southern Oregon AVA. If you would like to set up personal tours at any vineyards, please feel free to contact me at marloweb@sou.edu

  3. If we go to Flavor Napa Valley afterward, what is the best — and most affordable! — place to stay??? Jennifer

  4. Tyffani Peters

I would really love to attend this conference, and so would many of my colleagues, but unfortunately, both this year, and last, this event is held at the same time as a MAJOR food and wine event in Napa Valley- called Flavor Napa Valley. This year’s dates are November 14-18.

I understand that it’s hard to choose dates when there isn’t an event in wine country these days– but this is a valley-wide event that involves participation from all of the major tourism businesses in Napa Valley. I hope you’ll consider this when choosing dates for next year.

    Thank you.

    • Allan

      Hi Tyffani,

We were actually aware of it. In fact, you’ll see we list FLAVOR on our agenda for Friday, the day after the conference. The idea is that people coming from out of town can attend the conference and then the event. It is definitely true some people will have to attend all days of the event and not make the conference, which we regret!
