Location
The 2020 Wine Marketing & Tourism Conference will take place March 3-5 in Eugene, Oregon in the Willamette Valley. Oregon, of course, is the third largest producer of wine in the United States and the Willamette Valley is the heart of Oregon’s wine region. Eugene itself is a fantastic college town (University of Oregon Ducks) that is known as Track Town USA but is equally great for its craft beer and as a central hub for wine tourism.
Content & Themes
We have entirely changed the format of the Wine Marketing & Tourism Conference for 2020. All content sessions will take place in one room and be presented by industry experts. Content will be shaped into four distinct two-hour blocks presented by industry experts:
- Marketing
- Tourism
- Sales
- Service
Each session will be presented at an advanced level, will include industry examples, will focus on takeaways, and will be applicable to the entire audience. In addition, we will have two one-hour Industry Breakouts where you can get together with your peers to talk about what was presented and how it applies to your specific situation. We will have Industry Breakouts for the following groups:
- Wineries
- Wine Tour Operators
- Destination Management Organizations
- Winery Associations
- Others (Hotels, Restaurants, Marketing Consultants, Press, etc)
Host Hotel
Our host hotel is the Valley River Inn, located right on the Willamette River and just across a bridge from Eugene’s central district. The hotel offers an outdoor pool, indoor pool, and fitness center for your leisure hours (if you have any) and is located right on a 12-mile network of riverside bike paths if you are ready for a workout. We have a block of rooms for only $109 per night ($129 for river view rooms). To book your room, call 800-543-8266 or 541-743-1000. Please book your room early and no later than February 12, 2020.
Getting to Eugene
Eugene has a fantastic regional airport that is easy to get into and out of. It has direct connections to much of the wine production of the United States, including Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Oakland, and Los Angeles along with routes from the hub cities of Denver, Salt Lake City, Chicago, and Phoenix for those coming from farther away. The hotel has a courtesy airport shuttle.
Eugene is also on the main Amtrak route running from Seattle to Los Angeles if you prefer to take a scenic trip and is right off I-5 if you are driving.
