Day 2 of the Wine Marketing Conference started out strong with Opening Keynote: Lynda Schenk, Executive Director of the Wine Communicators of Australia. As an international speaker, she provided an excellent perspective and insight into not just the Australian wine industry, who probably leads the world in terms of investment in wine tourism, but also the worldwide impact and lessons from the audience. Lynda is a dynamic professional who as the Executive Director of Wine Communicators of Australia is at the center of the Australian marketing world. She also runs her own marketing agency, Purple Giraffe. You can read more about Lynda here.
The day continued wine industry veteran Eric Guerra, Janiene Ullrich from The Family Coppola, and Jeremy Schubert from Lunabean Media. Day 2 also consisted of one of our most popular sessions, 360 Degrees Sharing Best Practices. This is unique to the Wine Marketing & Tourism Conference and consisted of two breakout groups, marketing, and tourism, with each individual sharing one success story. We then took time to delve deeper into the success stories or, as a group, walked through a series of topics related to wine marketing or wine tourism.
We ended the day with a reception at Provisions Market Hall at 5th Street Public Market. Provisions Market is an upscale market that features organic, local foods, a restaurant, and an event space. Food and wine were included for all attendees and we had a fantastic time sipping smooth rose, crisp sparkling wine, and deep reds, and tasting turmeric popcorn, flavorful crostinis and more from the local Oregon area. Thank you 5th Street Public Market, Bennett Vineyards, J. Scoot Cellars, Provisions Market Hall and Sweet Cheeks Winery for a great introduction to Eugene.
Today is day 3 and we start at 8:00 am. See you all then and make sure to follow along with all #WMTC20 events on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
